No Dogs Allowed (1976); or, What Happened under the Trees at Sutton Place Park. (Exhibition)

I was doing a project of photographing the bridges on New York City and was looking for an interesting perspective on the 59th Street Bridge (Queensborough Bridge). When I set up my tripod at the entry to the park at the end of 57th Street, it (of course) drew the attention of the neighborhood power brokers who -- along with their canine security detail -- demanded their portion of space on my film. I obliged with the frame at left, though I did not obtain their permission to horizontally flip it. The frame at right was exposed immediately after their demand was satisfied and as the security detail was attempting to follow them into no dog's land (alas, thwarted by a leash).
