It ran with a front-page feature on May 28, 1974, about this second-generation barber who had been engaged in the tonsorial arts in Saranac Lake for half a century. The shop was in the Leis Block at 5 (now 12) Bloomingdale Avenue. The hanging lamps, marble counters, and beveled-edge mirrors had been part of the business since 1926.
