Peter Shrope: Ceramic Artist; Sculptor; Exhibit Designer
Rainbow Lake artist Peter Shrope works in a broad range of materials and processes. His art and design has been of regional significance for several decades. He studied in New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, and his work is in several permanent collections across the northeast. He has designed museum displays in New York, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Here in the North Country, he is experimenting with ceramic glazes based on local mineralogy, and he continues to probe the edges of design and expression in his sculpture. Besides all this, Peter was deeply involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for 10 years, and has had a positive impact on the lives of many.
“Time and place offer influence, experience provides skills, personal expression through media or process is the means to communicate ideas.”
