Maurice Kenny: Poet; Teacher
With nearly two dozen books to his credit, Maurice has been a prolific poet, critic and observer of North Country and Native American life. His work has won wide critical acclaim, with numerous awards and accolades – including two Pulizter Prize nominations. Besides crafting verse of his own, he has edited numerous publications and been involved in radio, television, and film productions.
He has been a Saranac Lake fixture for decades, renowned for his definitive literary opinions. He taught at North Country Community College for many years, and is now writer in residence at Potsdam College of the State University of New York.
