Tracy Santagate: Basket Maker; Teacher; Community Activist

Tracy owns and operates the best used book store in the world, Books and Baskets, near the post office in Saranac Lake. The business is located in a converted house, and the former kitchen is now a workshop space where she gives basket-making classes. She is a community activist as well, having helped found the group Sound Adirondack Growth Alliance in the late 1990s. She teaches at Paul Smiths College, and she leads bicycle tours of the Canadian Maritime Provinces.
