Rainbow House (Exhibition)

We had been driving in and out from under a thunderstorm along the north shore of the Baie de Gaspe from Cap aux Os to Pointe Navarre. By the time we got around to the south shore, the sun was out; and we stopped for our lunch at a picnic area where Riviere de l’Anse aux Loups Marins (Seal Cove River) rushes into the sea. There must have just been a hatch of black flies (black flies breed in fast flowing water), because as soon as the cooler hit the table, we were assaulted by clouds of them. Anybody who has been bitten by black flies knows that mosquitoes are light-weights by comparison. We ate hurriedly and escaped down to the beach where we were rewarded for our torment by a complete rainbow under the receding storm across the bay. Farther down the road, we got views of the rainbow as it slowly dissipated; and, when it was about halfway gone, we came upon this old house in the sea-bluff meadows somewhere beyond Prevel with the rainbow just so. We had no choice but to stop.
