Diane Leifheit: Painter; Graphic Designer

Born an artist, Diane never learned to write her name: she drew it. A few years later, her aunt gave her some pastels. Drawing and pastel work have been her passions ever since. At 16, she began to study life drawing, another continuing fascination.

She came to the Adirondacks when her husband (and high school sweetheart) Chris became a student at Paul Smiths College. Sometime in the late 90s, she began offering children’s workshops at Lake Placid Center for the Arts, which then blossomed into classes for adults. Diane is not a teacher, however; she is an art enabler. She continues enabling art of all sorts through her work at the Adirondack Artists Guild, her initiation of the Artists at Work Studio Tour, and her gardening.

A member of the Adirondack Artists Guild on Main Street in Saranac Lake, some of Diane's work can be seen at http://www.adirondackartistsguild.com/dianeleifheit.htm . She also owns a commercial art and graphic design business called Point of View Studio. The mailing address of Point of View Studio is 815 State Route 86, Gabriels, NY 12936.
