Here is one of the members of the first group of boulders in “The Great Unknown”, just a couple of dozen paces below and east of the crest of the hill where the trail ends. The first time I explored this group, the old, folding chair was right where you see it and where I photographed it. Several months later, it was gone from its perch. A year after that, I came back with a friend. We found the chair on the ground, off the picture to the right; and my friend returned it to the brink of the boulder. I haven’t been back since, but I suspect the chair has moved again.
